Niall grew up in the picturesque Gap of Dunloe in Killarney.
He always had a desire for a career in hospitality and his first step into this field was completing his degree in Athlone IT. On completion of his studies in 2000, Niall returned to his hometown of Killarney and commenced his hospitality career at Muckross Park Hotel & Spa.
Niall was originally hired as Supervisor in Major Colgan’s (known formally at the time as Molly Darcy’s). Throughout his time in Molly Darcy’s, he led a successful team and was pivotal in its success when it was awarded Black & White Pub of the Year five years in a row.
Niall has certainly seen some momentous changes during his time at Muckross, witnessing the hotel grow from strength to strength. In 2007, the hotel upgraded from a twenty-seven-bedroom property to a seventy-bedroom hotel, alongside the addition of a purpose-built conference centre and spa. It was also at this time that the hotel was awarded its prestigious 5-star accreditation by Fáilte Ireland.
Since 2007, Niall has led an extraordinary team during his tenure as Meetings and Events Manager, achieving tremendous success throughout his career. In 2025, Niall took on his current role as Wedding and Events Sales Manager, where he continues to live for the 5-star experience and excels in creating truly memorable moments for guests, always making exceptional service his top priority.
