Killarney Races 2011 - Go Racing By The Lakes!

 Killarney Races have been drawing crowds to the town for decades as race-goers are attracted by the beautiful scenery, great location of the racecourse (within walking distance of the town) and of course the warm welcome that is always experienced in Killarney.

 

Dates For Killarney Racing:

 

Killarney Races are held in May, July and August and all meetings attract a large following. In 2011, the race meetings take place from Sunday 15th May to Tuesday 17th May which consists of all evening meetings.

 

The July festival of racing is the most popular and takes place from Monday 11th July until Thursday 14th July with Mon-Wed being evening meetings and Thursday being a day meeting and more importantly is Ladies Day!

 

Racing at Killarney in August runs from Tuesday 23rd to Friday 26th and similar to May, all are scheduled for evening meetings.

 

How To Get To Killarney Racecourse:

 

Killarney Racecourse is within walking distance of Killarney town itself (1km) and is located on the Ross Road. If you are driving to the venue from the Muckross Park Hotel, head back in to Killarney and as you approach the town centre take a left turn at the “Amber” Filling Station to get onto Ross Road.

 

Killarney Racecourse Facilities:

 

Killarney Racecourse has a variety of facilities with corporate packages on offer while the Maurice O’Donoghue Stand has fantastic views of the track itself and of course of the finishing line.

 

There’s also a great choice of bars at the racecourse with The Jim Culloty Bar, The Maurice O’Donoghue Stand Bar open to the general public with corporate options available at The Owners & Trainers Bar, The Racegoers Club Bar and The Sponsors Bar.

 

Restaurants/dining options are available in The Maurice O’Donoghue Stand, The Jim Culloty Bar and The Chip Shop with private hospitality dining in The Corporate Suite.

 

Killarney Racecourse also provides two free car & coach parks and the gates to the venue open to the general public 2 hours before the beginning of each first race.
